THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY TRIP, BUT...

...the following items were gleaned from the October issue of Vanity Fair.

-Bono is godfather to Brad and Angelina's twins

-The numbers 3, 4, 5, and 7 on Ralph Lauren's Big Pony shirts coincide with those on the Yankee uniforms of his heroes, Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio and Mantle.

-Francis Ford Coppola's winery gets it's Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from George Lucas's vineyard.

-Brad Pitt and Barack Obama are ninth cousins

-Sony is about to release a 27-inch television that will be marginally thicker than...........a playing card.

-Ratings for the Oprah Winfrey Show are down nearly 7% this year.

-Judd Apatow and Adam Sandler were roommates after college

-Microsoft co-founder and Portland Trail Blazer's owner, Paul Allen, has decorated a (basketball) practice court on his estate with Monets and Renoirs.

-The Village People are getting a Hollywood Walk of Fame star next year.

And finally....

I think I've found the perfect job once I return.

Each year, Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer hires one applicant for the position (($150,000/year) of "cultural attache".

JOB DESCRIPTION: "Keeping Grazer abreast of the Zeitgeist in music, politics, culture and pretty much everything else; reading four or five books a week; and introducing him to one fascinating person a week from every conceivable walk of life."
